Commitment to Sustainable Education, PT THIP Presents Oil Palm Cultivation Insights at the 2025 UMKM Expo and Creative Economy Event
Indragiri Hilir – PT TH Indo Plantations (THIP) once again demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment and sustainable agricultural education by participating in the 2025 UMKM Expo and Creative Economy (Ekraf). At the event, PT THIP showcased a unique booth concept that provided comprehensive education on oil palm cultivation to the wider public.
PT THIP’s presence at the expo was not merely to enliven the exhibition, but also to carry a strategic mission to clarify public understanding of good oil palm plantation practices, in line with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Unlike conventional exhibition booths, the PT THIP stand was designed as an agricultural information hub. Visitors were invited to gain in-depth insights into oil palm cultivation processes that go beyond a sole focus on production output (Fresh Fruit Bunches/FFB), while also highlighting the critical aspects that support sustainable operations.
During the exhibition, PT THIP’s expert team delivered thorough education on three key pillars of oil palm cultivation. These included the selection of certified superior planting materials to ensure long-term productivity, proper nutrient management through accurate fertilizer dosage and timing to maintain soil health, and effective pest and disease control methods that remain environmentally friendly.
PT THIP’s participation in the 2025 UMKM Expo and Creative Economy event also reflected the company’s support for local economic growth. By promoting accurate and practical knowledge of oil palm cultivation, the company hopes that independent smallholders and the general public can adopt higher standards, ultimately leading to improved productivity and enhanced community welfare.
High visitor enthusiasm was evident as attendees engaged attentively with explanations on the oil palm life cycle, underscoring the strong demand for technical agricultural information among the people of Riau, where many livelihoods are closely linked to this “green gold” commodity.
Through this initiative, PT THIP aspires to continue serving as a strategic partner to both government and local communities in advancing the plantation sector and the creative economy, in line with the company’s vision of growing together with the surrounding environment.
